Thila Homa is a powerful Vedic ritual performed to alleviate the adverse effects of Pitru dosha or the curse of our dead ancestors who have not been appeased. It is performed with ‘Til’ (sesame seeds). Pithru Dosham can be classifid in many ways; it is said that the curse of departed souls, when going against their will, curses the person who defies their wish. In the Brahmin community, this can be classified to failure of performing the rituals, that are basically part of their birth Karma to perform the Pithru Karmas. Pitra Dosha– In contrast to the misconception of it being the curse from forefathers, Pitra Dosha is actually a karmic debt of the ancestors. Pitra dosha is formed in a person’s horoscope, when his/her ancestors have committed some sin or mistake. So, in exchange for that, the native is held accountable to pay for the wrongdoings of their forefather’s past deeds by going through various punishments. Presence of Pitra Dosha in one’s horoscope may bring about some inevitable and unexpected hardships in the native’s life. It causes severe ups and downs in one’s lifespan.

Tripindi Shraddha
Tripindi Shradha is an offering in the memory of the dear departed. If for three consecutive years the offerings are not made to the dear departed then the dead gets vehement, so to calm them these offerings are made. One month of humans equals one day for the dead. The day of new moon is the lunar day for the dead. On this day Darsha Shradha is performed. Unsatisfied dead harasses in the form of demon. Cancellation of rites meant for the forefathers, denying offerings made in the memory of the dear departed and spiritual procedures if not performed as per the traditions then problems may arise from goblin, corpse, demi-gods, the 27’th lunar mansions and may led to religious discord.

Moksha Narayana Bali pooja is performed for the salvation of departed souls. Narayana Bali Puja is performed in all months of the year but especially Panchami, Shashti Saptami, Dashami Ekadashi,
